Iaido is the art of the quick-draw of the sword, it belongs to the disciplines of traditional Japanese Budo (budo means martial art or military art). It is practiced through the execution of kata: codified forms of combat, which are performed alone, or rather, against an imaginary opponent.
JODO is the art of the Japanese stick or rather the way of using the Japanese stick. It originates from a sword master who lived in 1600 named Gonnosuke. The techniques are applied between two people: one with the Bokuto (wooden sword), while the other defends differently with the Jo, adapting to the type of attack launched.
